OMG I Slept With Over 4 Million People (Sex Calculator)

wiltchamberlain100

Over the weekend I came across an article on F-Listed entitled “How Many ‘Indirect’ Sexual Partners Have You Had?” I thought it was going to be a similar post to one I did a while back on whether or not the number of people you’ve slept with should be private, but I was mistaken.

British-based Lloyds Pharmacy has created what they call a “Sex Degrees of Separation Calculator.” Basically, this program allows you to see how many people you’ve really slept with based on your partners’ sexual history. The numbers are calculated by how old you are and the age of all of your partners at the time you had sex. Once all the numbers are crunched the program spits out a figure that is sure to surprise most people and hopefully put things into perspective.

Using myself as a guinea pig I decided to input my information into the calculator and was greeted with a number that toppled 4 million indirect partners. Yikes! Keep in mind the fact that I’m almost 33 years of age, have been single for the better part of the past decade, and included asterisks partners (people that I may not have had intercourse with but did exchange fluids with) played a role in the outcome. But still, that number is tres scary.

Despite popular belief, I’m not a man whore I just had a few wild years. Yeah, I’ve racked up a few notches in my belt but I can still name each individual. However, this sex calculator includes everyone that they’ve slept with and everyone that those people have slept with too. The number grows exponentially so even a virgin that has sex with someone that’s only had two previous partners could be indirectly sleeping with hundreds, if not thousands, of people on their first time together.

If that ain’t scary, I don’t know what is.

According to the Lloyd Pharmacy homepage, “It's important to be aware of your sexual health. Cases of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are on the up. Chlamydia alone increased by eight per cent between 2006 and 2008. If you do not practice safe sex you are putting yourself at risk of contracting an STI.”

While the sex calculator is merely an estimation of your number of indirect partners, it does “highlight how exposed you can be to STIs if you do not practice safe sex.” I’ve said/written it before and I’ll reiterate it here: Safe sex might not be the cure for every STI/STD but it does make for smarter sex.

Just because someone looks good/healthy doesn’t mean they are. It’s important to get tested, stay protected and most importantly talk to your partner about their past and sexual habits. I was brave enough to calculate my indirect sexual partners and put the number out there; how many of you are willing to do the same and discuss that with the next person you sleep with?

If you’re concerned about your sexual health, Lloyd Pharmacy suggests you talk to your general practitioner, pharmacist or visit your local clinic.

Have you ever thought about the number of people you’ve slept with indirectly? Can you recall the name of every single person you’ve slept with? Did you fill out the sex calculator? If so, were you surprised by the number? Was it more than mine? Would you be willing to share that number with your next/current partner? Does that number or the idea of it make you change your perspective on casual sex? Do you ever ask your partner(s) how many people they’ve been with? Do you think more couples should have that discussion before engaging in sex?

lol @ the pic of the bed post.

although this may seem groundbreaking to some. This just goes into the "crying over spilt milk" category for me. I cant go back and reduce my number so why agonize over it now? I dont need to be scared straight I gave up sex already(or did sex give up on me) :|

  • http://spinsterstravels.wordpress.com/ Spinster

VERY interesting. Too private a person to share what it calculated for me though. :-|

  • http://nwso.net NWSO

    @Spinster

Too private to share here or in general with whomever you share your bed with? That's where it matters most

  • http://spinsterstravels.wordpress.com/ Spinster

On here. In the bedroom, no holds barred. It's called CYA, in both the literal and figurative senses. :-| If you can't discuss that in the bedroom, then maybe you ought not be in the bedroom in the first place. But that's just my opinion. :-|

  • http://T1anddrebone.blogspot.com T1

according to that i've had direct and indirect contact with more people than the entire population of windsor, ontario, canada

Thanks for reminding people to focus on their sexual health, which always bears repeating.

My number is over 18 million, because I'm over 35 and have slept with men over 50. I tend not to believe anyone's number actually that high because it assumes sexual activity at age 16. Not the case for me, or for a number of men that I've been with. However, I'm proud to say that, having grown up in the condom-ads-on-TV generation, I've had minimal unprotected sexual contact, and my tests are all negative. And getting people to that point is the endgame of the calculator, so kudos to them.

Another note for everyone who's a little lax with the protection: sometimes we think about AIDS and pregnancy when having sex, but herpes is the gift that keeps on giving...

    The Anonymous was moi.

Still ... well damn ... I'm worse off than Ans. But I guess since men whore around more than women my number had to be higher than his ... :P .. j/K

  • MomOf3

My number was a little over 155,000... Not as high as 4 million but still an alarming number... I had to share that link on a FB... It's really an eye opener...

  • Mz. Ashley

You have had 166,261 indirect and direct sexual partners

That was my number.... wow! lol When i was single i use to always ask people how meny people they have had sex with...just to get an idea of what kinda man they were....if they didnt know the direct number, then i would be like " well how many in a month then?" lol.

  • SISTASOULFUL

    omg ...2,464,038

  • Righteous Mama

Nope, not touching that calculator. The thought of it is just too much. Yuk!

I have asked men in the past how many women they slept with and the last time I did, I didn't like the answer so I don't ask anymore. But I WILL ask for your paperwork and show you mine. lol.

If would never share with a man I'm dating how many partners I've had. The number is probably too many for most to handle. It's somewhere between 20 and 25. Most of all that went down in high school and college when I was a bit of a nympho. lol. I think that would scare a lot of dudes. But yes, I know all their names. Any more than five would probably be too much for most men to handle. As the number started getting up there some years ago, I definitely started to slow down. In the last ten years, I've only slept with 2 men. Okay 3 but one of them doesn't count cuz he was lame as hell, it was only one time, we used protection and it only lasted 10 minutes. lol. I know this is very personal but this is reality and compared to a lot of women I know, I'm a light weight. Marinate on that.

  • July

Sh*t! 193,622 I really thought it would be much lower than that.

  • That Guy

1,605,896 - Definenly an eye opener and I was a late bloomer and defiantly on the low end #'s wise of most guys I know.

When in college (at a very reputable HBCU) I lead several student organization, while doing a community service project with one, we organized a blood drive... Long story short, I called the Red Cross to follow-up on our efforts and to possibly schedule another drive. They were, um, 58% of the blood was contaminated, ie. unusable. I knew then (in 2000) that our community was really unaware of the consequences of our actions and how the affected the greater population. I thought if 60% of us "educated folks" had "bad blood" I didnt want to think about rural and true urban communities... I say all this to say, that being sexually active is not all about fun, its bout being informed and mostly safe. You never really know someone, so its best to try and minimalize your partners, if only for safety reasons.

PS: The bedpost photo was hillarious

  • Righteous Mama

    12,094,302 WTH!
    Nah, that can't be right.
Well, at least my paperwork is straight. lol. I'm done though. Time for a husband for real. smh.

  • ChiChi

LMAOL@ the calculator. I've been with one person and he's been with 3, if I'm remembering correctly, and it said I slept with 747,101 people indirectly.

  • Rastaman

That is a damn shame, if I have slept with that many other folks indirectly howw the hell I did not enjoy it. LMAO!!

I know everyone is going to be focused on the STI, HIV potential that occured. Plus the whole ewww factor that comes with the thought of having slept with that many folks indirectly. But think about it folks, we share a lot of things with millions of other folks yet many of us are personally not as alarmed. The air you breathe for one and the planet for another.

I consider both those things much more important than shared sexual partners. Because while I can choose to live my life without ever having sex again (not a current consideration), my air and my planet is being polluted at rates beyond my imagination and those 2 I cannot do without for the rest of my life.

Sorry to bring the gloom but is that real worry, how many indirect sexual partners you may have had. How self involved can we get.

It only counts if they were direct partners and I remembered it. LOL!!

  • Shequita

it was in the 4 millions, and Rastaman you bring up a great point!!!

  • http://nwso.net NWSO

    @That Guy

That's sad/crazy/scary that 58% of the blood was unusable. Sad stats

  • MomOf3

@ chi chi I've been with more than that and my number came out much lower than that... Age must play a factor because i'm only 24...

  • http://spinsterstravels.wordpress.com/ Spinster

In agreement with NWSO. That Guy - that shit is INSANE. :-| Makes me want to go into a convent even more. :-|

  • DC Man With a Plan

This is a GOOD thing as long as it gets people to think about their sexual habits (even better if it gets one to discuss it with partners) and the habits of those they sleep with, but it's a hypothetical mathmatical model so I wouldn't lose any sleep over those numbers.

  • AGK

    14,694,587
    Dont ask. LOL

  • TaiTai

    *running to the nearest convent*
That's utterly depressing...I'm going straight to church when work is over!!!

  • http://whatdcpeoplehate.blogspot.com true2me

Umm....This is insteresting. But the most interesting is a guy who is concerned about a woman's number...does that mean now I could have slept with up to 3,000,000 men to be wife material..BWAHAHAHAHAH..yall think about sex TOO MUCH. Just protect yourself as best you can

  • mastery20

I took the test, just to see....but because I am "math nerd" at heart, I just looked and kept it moving.

What I have noticed is that when it comes to asking about sexual history, there's usually one party who doesn't think it's necessary to discuss. (My number is low, so it's not me.) With that being said, if a guy's first reaction when the subject of getting tested together or exchanging papers is "why?", he gets the boot....quickly!

To the fellas: when it comes to numbers, at what point would you rather not know?

  • http://www.Michelle-Huxtable.com Michelle Huxtable

@ThatGuy That's a great point. We think about how it impacts us - contracting HIV, AIDS, and others STIs but we don't think about how that contraction affects the rest of the population! 58% unusable blood is alarming.

  • MomOf3

@ ThatGuy We had the same thing happen at Georgia Southern and that's not a HBCU... So it's not just in the black community... It's everywhere...

  • Anonymous

7,062,466 HOLY COW!! Damn!! That's practically the population of NYC! Thank the Lord that I'm married now and been with the same man going on 5 yrs. With stats like that it's no wonder STIs like herpes and HIV are running rampant.

I admit that in my early sexcaspade days, I wasn't always asking my partners about their partners or for their test results, but I was always safe; not that that's a guarantee against anything, but I wasn't deliberately being careless and irresponsible -- there was no sex without a condom until my husband! EVER!

Kids need to be shown this in sex ed class. I think if young'uns were faced with the reality of their actions early more would be less casual/carefree about their sexual relationships.

  • chevroLADY

3,666,168 indirect and direct sexual partners!!!!

This is startling...From that number alone you'd think I was a whore..Im far from that and have always been very selective in the guys I've chosen to sleep with. This has definately put something on my mind.....Woooow!!

N-e-way....Just rememeber to keep it SAFE @ all times!!

  • Chica

4,441,280. I'm 23. I don't feel any kind of way about telling a future partner about my direct number. However, this whole exponentially growing number - not so much.
This is really intriguing though. Apparently, the avg result for people in my age group is 990,449.

I don't think that a relatively high number warrants calling somebody a whore. Obviously, I say that cause of my blob of a number - and I'm clean as a Mormon on Saturday morning.

I propose a toast: To keeping your medical charts up to date and transparent as hell.

oh em gee.... smh ..... church!
