R.I.P. NakedWithSocksOn.com – I Moved & Improved

How’s it going, Sock Heads. If you’re reading this then I didn’t lose you in the switch—if you even realized. If you take a look at the address in your web browser you’ll see that I’ve officially moved the site from NakedWithSocksOn.com to NWSO.net. Moving forward this is where you’ll get your daily dose of NWSO, so be sure to update your bookmarks, GoogleReader, blog rolls, RSS feed, etc.

Now the question for some may be, why? Well, over the past year and a half I’ve heard from some folks that they couldn’t read the sit at work because it was firewalled by their company because of the word “naked.” In an effort to work around that I opted for the more PC domain name NWSO.net (sorry, nwso.com was already taken by Sony).

For the most part, the switch over should be pretty seamless as anyone going to the old address or links will be redirected here. Also, subscribers need not worry as I switched the RSS feed as well, so y’all should get your daily email alerts about new posts the same as always (CLICK HERE to subscribe). If anyone comes across any issues or broken links just let me know as there might be one or two quirks that I missed. So any heads up as you explore the site would be appreciated.

Along with the new address there a few subtle updates to the site.

1. You’ll notice at the top of the page there’s FaceBook “like” button. I figure this will come in handy for the secret lurkers that visit but don’t like to comment.
2. At the bottom of the post you’ll notice that the share options are bigger and bolder. Basically, that’s where you can tweet, FaceBook, or grab the RSS feed of any post with the click of a button.
3. I added an app a plug-in for iPhone users so you can view the site on your mobile more streamlined. Hopefully, I’ll have a BlackBerry-friendly app plug-in in the near future for the rest of you cell phone readers.
4. I added a direct reply option in comments so that instead of commenting to someone all the way at the bottom, you can click “reply” under their comment and your response will appear right below theirs.

There should a few more updates in the coming weeks, including the online store for NWSO T-shirts and products—finally—and other technical upgrades until I can get the complete redesign in motion. Anyway, until then look around the site and please update your blog rolls, bookmarks, GoogleReader and RSS feeds, etc.
