What Do You Think About Tongue Rings? [VIDEO]

Care to guess what my most popular post is? The now infamous one about not dating “baby mamas” I did for MadameNoire? Nope. Oh, the controversial one I wrote about Greek life “I Don’t Date Girls in Gangs (Sorry Sorority Sisters)”? Closer, but still not it.

Oddly enough, the post that I constantly get comments on is “Are Tongue Rings Sexy or Freaky? (Suck It or Not).” In case you missed it, I basically broke down my biased belief that most women get tongue rings to do freaky things with their mouth and guys that get them tend to come off a bit “sweet.”

Well, it seems those of the tongue ring coalition haven’t taken too kindly to my post and constantly chime in with their lisp-filled rebuttals (LOL) of my tongue-in-cheek musings. Do I have proof to support my theories? Nope, but that still doesn’t stop me from giving the side-eye to anyone I see with a shiny piece of metal in their mouth.

I was sure I wasn’t alone in my beliefs so I called in on the homie Paul Carrick Brunson aka the Modern Day Matchmaker for some assistance. Paul and his One Degree From Me team hit the streets to poll some people about whether or not tongue rings are sexy or freaky. The end results are hilarious—see for yourself.

But... I wanted a tongue ring, not for "freaky" reasons i just wanted one cause i thought it wld be sexy... i never got one tho... i've heard some stories of the initial pain and not being able to eat...and for me thats a no go! lol!

Guys with tongue rings....NO! if you need something extra on your tongue to please me then we really don't even have nothing to talk about! #imjustsaying! Plus... it does look a little..."sweet" lol

For women it's half and half. she might of gotten it for fashion reasons she might have gotten it for felattio reasons...but guys with the tongue rings...well the only guys I know with them are gay so that might have whitewashed my views about straight men with them. It does come off sweet, they very well may have gotten them for felattio purposes but...its still comes off as sweet as apple pie lol

If my date (a guy) showed up with a tongue ring. I would think it was sexy, but I couldn't take him seriously. I would keep him around for entertainment only.
I have a tongue ring (& I don't talk with a lisp lmao) and hopefully, because I carry myself like a lady, men don't think I'm trashy...at least my fiance' doesn't.

If my date showed up with a tongue I would think it was sexy but then again I would be wondering if ol dude is "sweet". I wanted a tongue ring since forever all because of the whole fashion thing and maybe even to try use it, if you know what I mean, not that I need it or anything because I've never received any complaints. I don't knock people that have them because they have their very own reason for having it in the first place.

I have had my tongue ring for about 13 years now. Initially when I pierced it, I was going thru my tatoo phase where I got two and I was looking for something else to do. I was 19 at the time. I must admit, I did it for the freakiness attached to it, but 13 years later its just a part of me. The people that came into contact with my ring didn't really seem to have an opinion one way or the other. My husband asked me to perform with and without it to see the difference. He actually preferred it with the ring. I thought about taking it out as I'm older now, but I feel naked without it. Like I said, its a part of me now.

I had one. Got it for fashion reason but my boyfriend loved it... I ended up having to take it out for job opportunities.. I don't look at people different well not females different but if a dude had it I would think he had a lil sugah in his tank lol...

I'll pass on chicks with tongue rings. It might be attractive in a schexy way but if I stopped to think of all the things she may have done with that mouth based on the "i have a tongue ring" mentality... it becomes a to anything serious. Call it biased or not but I just get grossed out.

And dudes with tongue rings are not just gay, they are super gay.

Are people still getting body piercings? If so, I'm totally out of the loop. Used to think tongue rings and belly rings were sexy. But now, a lot older and a bit wiser, I just think they're corny. I got a belly ring in the early '90s because I thought it was cool—and very few people had it at the time. But the novelty wore off a few years ago and I took it out. Now I have an extra belly button and regret. UGH.

For me any piercing on a man is a total turn-off.

It doesn't bother me as far as dating someone. I want any person I'm with to be true to themselves. I have been on the receiving end of tongue ring head and it is much better with than without ,but I can't expect my lady to get one just to enhance her oral skills.

Yeah if a dude ring with a tongue ring tried to talk to me I would instantly classify him as a "no go". They just aren't sexy on a man AT. All. There was a time long time ago when I did want to receive some oral from a man with a tongue piercing... yeah that never happened. For a very slight laspe in judgement (really like a hot second)I wanted one, then when I heard all the negatives it got and how they pierce it, and how people can barely talk, and how people swallowed the balls.... I decided against it. What really made me not want to get one was when a former co-worker (male) who was a known hoe (to me)said I would look good with one! Yeah, I know why he said it and it offended me! I think tongue rings are RANDOM! lol

OK here's my piece:

Had plenty experience with them, and yeah, if I see one, can't help but think about sex. Just happens (although, really, lots of things cause me to think about sex, so not exactly a big deal). That being said, I also kind of see them as juvenile - I thought they were soooooo sexy as a younger woman, now I feel like they're left over from that age. If a dude/girl got one now? There might be a slight eye-roll involved.

In my experience? Sometimes you can tell someone has it, when you makin' out or when you're being, um, intimate, and sometimes you can't. Depends. I've also known people who were really good at hiding them, period, and then those that can't stop messing with them.

PS if they interfere with your speech? Get that mofo taken out. Please.

I don't recall ever making any past judgments about a date with a tongue ring. I always figure piercing are temporary things anyway and they don't really matter in the scheme of things. I thought tongue piercing went the way of my high top fade an embarrassingly amusing phase.
I have over my lifetime had a variety of experiences with women with all types of different styles and fashions. While I have my preferences on what appeals to me, the tongue rings were inconsequential. They never delivered on the freakiness the tongue ring suggested and made me conclude that it was just another suggestive prop intended to draw extra attention.
Two of the freakiest women I have ever dated on appearance would remind you of a librarian or a school teacher. Most of the ones who had the suggestive body decorations tended to be rudimentary at best. I have come to conclude that all of that outward decoration: elaborate tattoos, piercings etc. is all about seeking attention and less about an expression of personality.

What can I say about Tongue rings. Well I had mine done twice, the first time I found out I was pregnant so I took it out,then recently I got it done again. I got it as a fashion stataement because everyone was else was doing it, then the second time I was going through a little phase. Are they freaky and sexy? yes they are but it also how you carry yourself.

When i met my girl, she had one. She had a BF at the time so i didnt really make a move. Fast forward, she took it out after they broke up and her and i got together.

i have a tongue and i didn't get it to give fellatio being that i got it wayyyyy before i was having sex lol i have an oral fiaxation and i used to bite my nails chew on my pens and pencils just pretty much putting stuff in my mouth (no pun intended)so i figured having a tongue ring would help with me that and it did now men with tongue rings never came off as "sweet" to me because all the guys i know with tongue rings are straight and they got it because they eat the box. if a guy/girl know what they are doing then yes it enhances sexual pleasure and kissing someone with a tongue is quite fun

I believe it's all in a way a person carries themselves. If the girl is goin around showing the world her tongue ring ur gonna assume she's up to no good. But there are some that you wouldn't even know they had it unless your 3inches from their face. I think people show it off for the hype . And alot of the time they can't talk properly because they keep the wrong sized bar in their mouth instead of changing it to the proper size. I have a tongue ring an most people don't realize unless I'm cheesing extra hard an their all up in my mouth. I think it depends on the person an the respect they have for themselves

Okay, I have a tongue ring! Got it my first in college because I just thought they where cool. Although I was very sexually active (with my then BF), I did not use it for sexual enhancement. Only afta years later did I began to experiment with it sexually.

Prior to getn my tongue ring I thought guys with tongue rings where gay. But that opinion changed afta gettn mine, because I realized, If I got one just to get it why couldnt a dude do the same. (I've dated to guys with tongue rings...mmmmmmm..)
